Steinke is an elementary school teacher, childrens book author, and cartoonist. His work covers the reflective, the absurd and the humorous. His newest book, Big Plans, is a collection of his comics and stories ranging from the fear of terrorism, alcoholism, and a shooting at the mall to the Academy Awards.

Sometimes there is a six panel grid, sometimes four panels per spread, sometimes the spread is one big panel. All are smooth transitions. Excellent cartooning that is well written.Frank Santoro, The Comics Journal
